A quality portfolio brings out the distinct characteristics of your child with a variety of poses, locations, costumes and lighting. This portfolio becomes a launch pad in the field of media and advertisements. Balmudra ensures these pictures reach the correct ad agencies, newspapers and film production houses.
Balmudra has a large and effective network in the media industry. With an experience of over 20 years, our children have been part of numerous domestic and international media assignments in commercials, TV serials and Hindi feature films.
Shrikrishna Paranjpe – Owner and Founder of Balmudra
It was while pursuing architecture that he stumbled upon his innate gift of “catching the moment” through pictures. With no background in photography, his passion fuelled him to experiment with the medium and carefully study it. Soon, he decided to pursue it as a profession and joined the Maharashta Herald in 1992 as a staff photographer. This was followed by freelance work as a photo journalist for many leading publications like the Times of India, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Femina, Sakal, Savvy, Society to name a few. Simultaneously he was also working on domestic and international assignments in food, architecture, glamour and industrial photography. His skill and experience has made him one of the most sought after photographers in India.
He believes that there is a story in every child and it needs to be shared with the world. This is the fundamental belief of Balmudra. With able support from his wife Poorva as an advisor, casting director and co-ordinator; together they have set up a 2000 sq.ft state-of-the-art studio with cutting edge technology.
Shrikrishna has successfully organized a unique photography exhibition for the past 11 years, where he exhibits his best work in child photography. The event is very popular in many cities.

We are very happy to see that you are interested in creating your child’s portfolio through BALMUDRA. Here are a few pointers that will help you along the process:
Simply fix an appointment with us so that we can give you dedicated time when you visit BALMUDRA.
At your first visit, you can take a tour of our studio and get familiar with the functioning of Balmudra. You will be given detailed information about our specially designed photo shoot packages.
As you fix upon a package, a registration form is made available for booking. After filling out the form, we can mutually decide a convenient time for the photo shoot. The right colours and clothes for the shoot will also be discussed during this time.
A typical photo session takes about a day to complete (depending on the child’s mood of course!) Photos are taken both indoors and outdoors.
Indoor Shoot
With a well-equipped studio at Parvati Paitha, Pune and an area of 2000 sq. ft. Shrikrishna Paranjpe has ample space for photographing kids at their various antics. The place is also ideally suited for Fashion Photography, Tabletop Photography and Industrial Photography.
At Balmudra’s state-ofthe-art studio, we use various backdrops and high-end lighting equipments to catch your child’s expressions. The Balmudra studio is equipped with comfortable cribs and baby-soft beds. So your child gets the best rest it can at the studio itself. You need not worry on that count. Indoor shoots are conducted form 10AM to 2PM.
Outdoor Shoot
Our outdoor shoots are mostly taken in a park. The natural stone structure, colourful fountains, flowers and greenery add to the natural aspect of all photographs. Children are happiest when they are out in the open. We click some of our best photographs while your child plays in amid natural surroundings like gardens, flowery areas and green lawns.
An outdoor shoot is taken after 4 pm when the day is cooling off. Another reason for this timing is that on an average, The time from 2 pm to 4 pm is when children take a short afternoon nap. And a fresh child is a delight to click. This scenic locale is situated at a walkable distance from the indoor studio.
Costumes:
We do not provide costumes for the photo shoot. However, you can happily borrow from our huge in-house collection of toys and caps. There is no additional charge for this. You can also bring along your own props if you wish.
Only one child’s portfolio is shot at a time so we can give complete attention and undivided focus. Your child’s comfort is always a priority. The studio is equipped with cribs and soft beds for your child to rest in the studio itself. The studio overlooks a beautiful garden as well.
Payment:
Payment can be made in full on the day of the shoot itself. Both cash and cheque are accepted. For payment by cheque, address it to ‘BALMUDRA’.
Delivery of Photos
You will receive a CD-ROM with all the photographs of your child clicked at the studio, one week after the shoot. The hard copies shall be selected by parents according to their package.
We conduct photo sessions for children of any age. Our services also include photography in industrial, glamour, interior, food, photojournalism and matrimonial sectors.
