It was while studying architecture that Shrikrishna Paranjpe discovered his true love. Photography. He was hardly 22 then, with no background in the profession, with only his own intuitive sense of frame composition, lighting and other subtle techniques he had mastered by rigorous experimentation and study. It was, however, his unique gift of “Catching the Moment” that pushed him into the photography profession as a Staff Photographer at Maharashtra Herald in 1992, and then as a freelance photo-journalist for several prestigious publications.

His portfolio rapidly gained weight through assignments with times of India, Indian Express, Maharashtra Herald, Hindustan Times, Femina, Savvy, Society, Sakal, Saptahik Sakal and other high-readership newspapers and magazines. In the meantime, he was also executing a range of domestic and international assignments in food, architecture, glamour, industrial and religious functions photography. His untiring efforts and focused determination has made Shrikrishna one of the busiest and most famous photographers in India.

But he is most at home with his little clients. ”There is a story in every child.” he says,” The child needs to share it with the world. And Balmudra is a story collection.” Well, Shrikrishna has witnessed more than 10,000 such tiny stories unfold, storing them forever on the reel. He has worked with kids of all ages. From pink newborns to restless toddlers to busy schoolgoers. Clothes or no clothes. Smiles or tears. Screams or silence. For him, every photo shoot is like searching for a treasure. So while children do their own thing, the eye behind that camera is watching. To capture the gold in a child on camera. Determined to give you moments you will cherish for a lifetime.

As he moves on rapidly towards a world record, he is ably supported by Poorva, his wife.” and advisor ...and Manager ...and child Model Co-ordinator too!” he quips. Shrikrishna owns a 1000 sq. ft. high-end studio with cutting edge equipment like Strobe Lighting, a Digital Canon Mark 5D (22.5 Megapixel) camera and a truckload of little things that please kids. In addition to this infrastructure, he personally oversees the post-shooting processes

Shrikrishna has been successfully organizing Balmudra, a one-of-a-kind child photography exhibition for the past 9 years. The event has achieved tremendous popularity not just in Pune but in Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur and Hyderabad as well. With the quality of photography, media coverage and the model coordination services Balmudra provides, many of our twinkling tiny stars have already been cast in films, TV advertisements and other commercial media. Every year, Balmudra brings you little crowd-pullers and would-be stars. Kids who have the charm to capture your hearts, and god willing, the media industry. There is of course, some good news for the rest of India. Because in the coming years, Balmudra is set to rock the nation’s several other major cities.
